The Bright Group are looking for a new Artist Coordinator to join their team:

Our artists are acknowledged as leading lights across publishing art licensing and advertising providing creative content for clients world wide. The Bright Group has grown rapidly and we are looking for a new Artist Coordinator to join the team due to promotion, and enhance the business and our artist care further.

As Artist Coordinator (AC) you will be working at the forefront of our company and your role will be of critical importance to our day-to-day operations. It is the point of intersection for Artists, Agents, Marketing & Design and requires a creative eye as well as propensity to be organised and forward thinking. You will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships with artists, as well as assisting in the growth and development of new talent.

A great opportunity to work with a wonderful and varied list of artistic talent, in this role it is important to understand the needs of each artist and their creative direction as well as support the agents working with them on projects, who are based in our London & New York offices.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Passion for children’s publishing and illustration is essential
  • Experience in publishing or artworking a bonus but not a necessity
  • Demonstrate creativity, originality and flexibility, with good resilience during periods of high pressure
  • Good teamwork skills
  • Strong artistic sense with the ability to manage multiple and varied artists’ requirements
  • Close attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task on many tasks at one time with strong initiative

Key Responsibilities:

Submissions and Onboarding:

  • Chairing a monthly Artists Meeting: to cover a range of topics including submissions, existing workloads and survey feedback
  • Submissions: filtering and selecting artists submitting to Bright to be presented to the agents at regular artist meetings
  • New artists on-boarding: take on, select and process new artwork to our bespoke CRM system, Sparklebox
  • Highlighting new artists signing to agents and marketing
  • Be interested and look out for and approach artists

Processing Artwork and Current Artist Management:

  • Processing of new artwork from existing artists: uploading, tagging, keywording artwork on Sparklebox with the help of the Portfolio Curator
  • Portfolio curation with existing artists: working to improve and update their current artwork showing on the website to show their best and most relevant work
  • Coordinating surveys to send out to artists on their project goals and creative development, feeding back on artist care.
  • End to end management of artist queries
  • Improve and develop processes and communications concerning artist care

Management of the Portfolio Curator (PC)

  • A part-time Portfolio Curator helps the Artist Coordinator with the processing of artwork and ensures that artists’ portfolios are looking their best
  • The PC also helps the AC to review the current status of all artists and investigate if they need any development to enhance their portfolio


5 working days a week in our Clapham based office, Monday – Friday
