A Bright Frankfurt!
All the fun of the fair!
With an early start on the Thursday, Vicki and Lucie hot footed it to Heathrow and celebrated the start of another Book Fair with a glass of bubbly. From here the Bright Agents boarded their flight and arrived one hour later in Germany’s city of skyscrapers and book fairs – Frankfurt!
With Hall 8 being made redundant for 2015, many exhibitors discussed how the fair would feel different in Hall 6 next year. Times change and fairs get small, but this was not the case in term’s of the clients appetite for Bright art work, which imminently grows!
From Compass Educational to Nosy Crow, a range of meetings took place – with the overriding comment of ‘wow, all the art work is of such a lovely standard!’. Bright’s reputation for art work with flair and panache was certainly a discussion point. As an agency, we pride ourself on championing the creation of the most current, engaging and commercial content across all genres of children’s publishing. Representing world-class illustrators, story developers and content creators, we are a hub of global talent with a unique strategy of artist management that builds careers & creates award winners – with this then comes the joy that as agents we take from assisting, developing & nurturing our Bright creatives on their unique career paths.
With Day one of the fair complete, Lucie and Vicki made the inaugural visit to the Maritim for a beer and a Cosmo, then another followed as the next stages of the Bright business were discussed! Before long the Agents were surrounded by old publishing friends and acquaintances. A lovely evening was the prelude to a great final day, Frankfurt Friday.
Rain greeted the girls as they arrived at the Hall but this was lifted with smiles as new projects were discussed and the prospect of a busy 2015 for our artists became clear! The fair was certainly quieter this year for many but by no means for the Bright agents, there were plenty of deals to be done and schnitzel to be eaten!
