Artist of the Month July 2015 – Lucy Fleming!

Bright is delighted to announce that ‘Artist of the Month’ for July 2015, is the multi-talented & reliable Lucy Fleming!

With an incredible pool of dedicated talent to choose from, July’s artist of the month was a tough one. However, for the team, it was the sprightly and talented Lucy Fleming who impressed us and our clients the most. Lucy is a well-known and much-loved artist here at The Bright Group and we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on her hard work and talents this month. After graduating from the University of Lincoln, Lucy joined Bright in Summer 2014 and we have enjoyed having her as part of the team ever since.

Lucy works closely with Bright’s Education Agent, Lucie Luddington, using her skills in paint, crayons and pastels in her digitally-painted art, creating bright, detailed images inspired by nature, world culture and weather, to name but a few things! Lucy says: “I also take influence from modern children’s books and contemporary surface design along with the classic brilliance of fairy-tale illustrations by Edmund Dulac and Arthur Rackham.”

Since joining Bright, Lucy has worked with many established and well-known publishers, such as Bloomsbury, Little Tiger Press, ABDO Publishing, Igloo Books, Simon & Schuster and more. Most recently, Lucy volunteered as part of Marks & Spencer’s London-wide campaign, #SparkSomethingGood, twenty-four projects across the city to encourage local communities to make a real difference in their area. Lucy’s mural was inspired by children of all demographics having fun together within the rainbow colours of the school itself. The final mural is a testament to Lucy’s strong style, and took a total of 8 hours! It is now ready for all to see at the Rainbow School yard, Wandsworth Common. Read more HERE.
