Artist of the Month – Lola Design – June 2014

This month we are delighted to promote our very own Art Licensing whizz Lola Design aka Amanda Mountain. Amanda joined us after a long career as an in-house card designer for a large publishing house in the UK. Going under the name of Lola allowed Amanda to try various different ideas and not get pigeon holed into one historical style. After small tentative steps Amanda decided to take the plunge and go 100% freelance for Bright Art Licensing three years ago, She has never looked back and is now enjoying a busy and fulfilled life as a very successful illustrator. Not only is Amanda enjoying the success of freelance illustration but is recommending industry friends to join the ‘dream team’ with the wonderful Dotty Lottie on board we are very appreciative for the wonderful introductions!

Amanda’s enthusiasm, focus, attention to detail and huge artistic repertoire make her the perfect Art Licensing artist. During recent years the brand Lola has gone from strength to strength, with many a card range under her belt Amanda is now taking the fine art world by storm. Check out her beautiful dogs, horses and country animal ranges currently on fine art cards and prints. Amanda’s trusty sidekick Rocky the French Bulldog was the inspiration and starting point for this successful look, being dog lovers here at Bright we obviously sent her photos of our dogs to paint……which she obligingly did!

Amanda’s work has developed beyond belief since being with Bright, with the help of the Art Licensing team she has pushed herself to the limits to learn new techniques, try out new styles and keep up with the latest trends.

Lola Progress

“Amanda is an absolute super star! She is a true pleasure to work with, her “work hard” attitude is second to none and she is always up for the next challenge, Bright Art Licensing wouldn’t be where it is today without such a bright and shining star! She has always been my saving grace for a quick turnaround commission……we have joked in the past that she must use both hands (and feet) on that wacom tablet!” – Hannah Curtis, Bright Art Licensing Agent
