Spaghetti Yeti at the Oxford Literary Festival!
With the Oxford Literary Festival taking place at the end of March, we caught up with our fantastic collaborative team, author couple Charlotte and Adam Guillain writers of brilliant books such as “Spaghetti with the Yeti” and “Bella the Storyteller” and our superbly talented illustrator, Lee Wildish who was the overall winner of The Red House Children’s Book Awards last year with his book “Spooky Spooky House.”
The event which took place from the 22nd March – 30th March was a huge success and on the Saturday our trio put on a sell-out show to children and parents from across the country. Adam, Lee and Charlotte brought the hilarious first picture book in their “George’s Amazing Adventures series” to life with an outstanding performance of “Spaghetti with the Yeti” with Charlotte reading from the book and Adam acting out the part of the weird and wonderful monsters. The children where able to join in, dress up and put on silly costumes, even illustrator Lee put on a blonde wig for the part of the Yeti!
When we asked Charlotte what she thought of the performance she said, “some of the children in the audience acted out parts of the story before we all sang the Slurping Song. It was great fun! And the whole thing was rounded off with Lee showing the children how to draw a Yeti and make drawings from their squiggles.”
Keep a look out for more stories with adventurous George!
