Booksellerconference

Due to the growing excitement surrounding the Bright Emporium, which is already being received as something truly innovative and unique, there is no surprise that the publicity surrounding the gallery is rapidly growing. Bright MD and founder, Vicki Willden-Lebrecht, has an initiative to make rockstars out of Bright artists and to make children’s publishing ‘cool’ – this venture has certainly been centralised in our diversified artist events and duly supported by the Bookseller in various articles. Through this mutual rapport with one of the largest publishing periodicals in the world, The Bookseller have exclusively invited the Bright Emporium to preview it’s first exhibition and open the annual Children’s Conference on the 29th September 2015.

Unveiling at The Barbican, the conference will play host to over 250 fellow publishers, booksellers, editors, marketers, press, authors and librarians. This monumental conference allows Bright to cement it’s place as the new wave in ‘cool’ children’s publishing – Award winning, best selling & amazing talent for generations to come – and gives The Bright Emporium the unique opportunity to showcase it’s first exhibition, Where the Story Began, directly to the UK’s publishing hub.

‘Invention and reinvention – growing the children’s market’ - This year, the Children’s Conference focuses on how the industry’s most innovative players bring stories to life and get them into young readers’ hands. From print’s biggest success stories to innovative uses of intellectual property, experts from the book world will share their knowledge on how to grow your children’s book business within the fastest-selling sector in publishing. Get your EARLY BIRD tickets before 28th August.

The Bright Emporium is about connecting the audience to it’s source – to celebrate the creativity and the talent that goes into making children’s books as well as to make children’s book authors and illustrators accessible to their fans. The unique retail platform will be a destination shop that fans and book reading families can purchase limited edition prints, commission art, buy signed books, attend creative events and get close to their favourite creatives. What better way to introduce this but to give a unique insight into the Bright publishing portfolio, as a behind the scenes – the story behind the story – exhibition inclusive of our award winning and critically acclaimed children’s content. This exclusive show will initially allow the publishing community to learn a little more about Bright publishing stars and their global assets and will then be moved to our brand new space at the Emporium, opening later this autumn.

The Emporium Update

We are now in the final stages of our extensive redevelopment build, taking an old mechanics workshop and developing it with bridges, hanging desks, walk ways, bookshelves and ladders to create something contemporary and dynamic. The space will be truly innovative for young children and families to discover brilliant books and a showroom where Bright authors and illustrators can display their work in a modern gallery setting, sell limited edition prints, bespoke commissions and host an array of memorable publishing events. This is the start of a new chapter for Bright’s pool of global talent, the agency’s following of creative clients and for story lovers of any size.

We have videoed every step of the extensive renovation of our lovely new space. Our most current video shows just how close we are to having the Bright Emporium living and breathing on the buzzing Battersea highstreet this Autumn.
